Northern Lights
Nordic Film Days
Northern Lights or Northern Film Days is a continuation of the Nordic Film Days festival in 2008.
This year we expanded its geographical perimeter including titles from Estonia and Lithuania. Although they are not official members of the Nordic Union of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland, the film aesthetics and topics of the directors from the Baltic countries are very close to their Northern neighbors’ cinema. In the last several years Estonian cinema fought for a renaissance and finally achieved it, Lithuania is also waking up after a long break, and Nordic directors keep creating their bitter-sweet opuses of everyday life: smart comedies and existential dramas, because of which we love them.
We offer you 12 titles form the Northern periphery of Europe, which tell little about lifestyle and society, but more about the Human being.
